A graduate of Yale College, Wes Grey Wolf had wanted to become an architect. Due to some unexpected detours, he instead at first pursued a career in public relations as a writer and an editor. For many years, Wes found an outlet for his artistic needs in illustration work, especially collage. In 1990, art won his full-time attention.

Since arriving in New Mexico in 1991, Wes has exhibited his work in more than 30 shows in the U.S. He has created graphic designs and illustrations for various local and national publications, including New Mexico's Alibi and Out! Magazine, and he built a line of handmade greeting cards featuring his collage illustrations and abstract cyber paintings. Since 1995, he and Galeria ARTopia director Allan Rosenfield have also collaborated on a line of Southwestern furniture.
