Carol Adamec is one of New Mexico's best known and most versatile artists. Her work includes oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, pencils, monoprints and mixed media works. She is a former art gallery director and a well-known art consultant. Educated at the Art Institute of Chicago, Carol Adamec exhibits and is collected throughout the U.S. Her work is regularly selected for exhibition by Albuquerque's annual municipal art showcase, Magnifico!. In addition to "Gifted: Bright and Shiny Things" at Galeria ARTopia, her most recent Albuquerque shows include a solo showcase at the Harwood Art Center, a three-person show at Weyrich Gallery, and a juried exhibition at the Albuquerque Museum. She is a co-founder of The 5,000 Flowers Project, a national remembrance of September 11, 2001. Carol Adamec is also represented by Weyrich Gallery, Albuquerque, and by Art Forms Gallery, Memphis, Tennessee.
